A Prayer For The Village - 2006
|
Michel Bouttier was a pastor in the Reformed Church of France whose prayers, first published in 1954 have been translated in Prayers for MY Village[1].
NOTE: Submitted by Biran McGaffigan
Here I am Lord,
once more to plead the case for my village before You.
I do not know how to penetrate the opaque veil that
conceals from us the nearness of your kingdom.
I do not know how to tear down the artificial decorations
of “religion”; behind them we would find freedom itself,
Joy, the glory of your presence!
O Lord, let me not cease, at least,
to present my village to you.
In prayer let the fog that hinders each and all of us
be dissipated – let that be my ministry!
Before You I have free access;
I have this grace to be able to speak to You about us,
knowing that You hear, that You understand.
Our wretchedness – have You not shared it in Christ?
