The Quilting of Faith

by Sonja Andrews
I was challenged to make a quilt inspired by a fortune cookie which read ... "May you travel paths of happiness."
In my faith tradition the path of happiness lies in finding the center of God. It is there we will find peace. Peace is also found in working out our faith in community with others, reconciling our differences, righting the wrongs we do each other, and redeeming the lost pieces that we find in ourselves and in others. This common whorl and series of intersections is known both as a golden mean and as God’s Eye. As we put our hands together, working out our faith, we redeem those lost bits in one another, becoming more and more like Jesus. Finding each other, finding the center of God, and traveling down the pathways of peace.
